Jessica L. G. Steuver (pronounced STY-ver), she/her/hers, is a passionate music educator, choral conductor, performer, clinician, and student. She currently serves as the Artistic Director of Windsong, Cleveland's Feminist Chorus. Ms. Steuver is a full-time Music Education PhD Student (Sociology Cognate) at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where she serves as Instructor of Record of University Chorale and Voice Skills & Pedagogy. Jessica also teaches private voice lessons out of her home studio and works as a professional chorister and section leader at the First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland.
Jessica holds degrees from Bowling Green State University (BM in Music Education, 2012) and University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (MM in Music Education, 2022). Prior to pursuing higher education, Ms. Steuver taught early childhood, elementary music and middle school choir in Cincinnati, OH for seven years. She developed curriculum for History of Rock and Roll and Music Technology courses, and served as the drama and show choir director at West Clermont Middle School.
Ms. Steuver's research interests include intersectional feminism in music, social justice in music education, mental health benefits of group singing post-pandemic, and musical catharsis.
